The team have enjoyed great success in the MX6 winning two consecutive ANDRA Sport Compact Championships, six back to back National Records in PRO RWD, and who can forget the historic win in Group 2 Competition Eliminator, the first ever Sport Compact team and first Rotary to win in this class. After six years of competitive racing in the MX6, the team is excited to take Rotary Drag racing to the next level.
Only days ago the boys took possession of their new car which will be taking the place of the MX6 as their new flagship for PAC Performance. The car was purchased from well known US based, Pro Stock Racer, Allen Johnson. The factory MOPAR car was built by RJ Race Cars factory and was running consistent 6.60’s in last years NHRA series, and the best of a 6.5.
The chassis will be rebodied with a Mazda 6 shell and using the MX6’s current running gear. Along with the data, R&D and experience they have gained over the past six years in the MX6 the new chassis will allow the PAC team to compete along side the influx of US built chassis’ coming to race the Sport Compact Series.
The MX6 will finish the current Sport Compact Group Championship with the support of Garrett Turbochargers, Castrol EDGE and Turbosmart. At this stage the team will only run a one car team for next season, although special appearances, at selected meetings, of both cars racing side by side will be a real possibility.
As for the Mazda 6 it is set for its race debut really soon. “Watch out piston boys here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!”
