When you're onto a good thing you stick with it. That's exactly why we build so many RX3s here at Pac Performance. With the huge amount of knowledge, aftermarket and replacement parts and performance upgrades available to suit this model and the almost cult following the RX3 series has it's just hard to beat. Not only does it make the whole build much easier to carry out, it also makes the finished product that much more cooler. Just check out Simon's example here...

Built from the ground up here at Pac Performance, Simons HSV Red sedan went through the typical Pac street car treatment, transformed from a rough rolling shell into a vehicular masterpiece.

Body wise, the exterior is pretty much still all Mazda with Simon opting for a 10A front end apposed to the more popular 12A Savanna combo. Contrasting nicely with the blood red duco, the gloss black FR18 Simmons are the perfect set of heels for this old girl and they certainly give the car striking visual appeal.

Under the hood the sexiness continues with a Pac-prepped bridge port 13B, accompanied by a host of go-fast goodies. Continuing the black and red theme, the majority of the bolt-on parts and accessories including but not limited to the Series 5 intake, Pac radiator, oil cooler, intercooler and all piping has been powder coated in-house in gloss black.

As with all of our street car builds, every components, from brake lines and hydraulics to fuel and oil lines have all been replaced and in most instances upgraded with brand new items, bringing the car up to current standards.

Hanging off the exhaust side of the engine is one of our custom street-spec Garrett GT40 turbos, regulated by none other than a Turbosmart 50mm wastegate. Helping the engine pump out some 500 hp at the wheels, it does so through one of our street legal shielded high flow air filter setups.

Look closely and you will see many of the finer details like these trim rings used around where the cooler piping moves through the bodywork. Keeping the engineers happy and making things look that much more neater it shows just some of the effort we go to ensuring that each of our builds sets a new standard.

Hidden snugly behind the front end is a Pac Performance high performance 4in intercooler.

Some would think that fitting up 18 inch wheels to such a small car would give it the roller skate look however as you can see the stance of this old girl is just right

Matching the 10A front, Simon had us fit up a set of rare genuine RX3 T-Cup tail lights. No reproductions here, there are the real deal!

Underneath the back of the car hides a near bulletproof 9inch diff setup with a Detroit Tru-Track setup ensuring that all of those 500 ponies gets sent to the tyres which try their best to grip the black-top.

With an exterior and engine combo like that you know damn-well that the standard trim is no longer in place... Inside the car now features a pair of genuine Recaro front pews, re-trimmed in supple tan leather. The dash, door trims and rear seat have also seen the same treatment, complimented by Autometer carbon series gauges, Momo wheel and a B&M Pro Rathcet shifter which allows Simon to slap through the gears in the C4 3-speed auto transmission.

Turbosmart goodies also find their way into the cabin with an EBoost II taking care of the boost control side of things

Looking after the whole power party is a Haltech PS1000 ECU, tuned by Rocky to perfection.

Hop in the back and you get a great view of the half cage, fitted in anticipation for 9-second ETs which the car is sure to produce. Although Simon has not yet let her loose at the track, with numerous other similarly setup customer cars running into the 9s with ease it's pretty much a sure thing...

Having enjoyed cruising around in this slick streeter Simon has decided that it is time to part ways to focus on his race car aspirations, with a new full chassis 13B Mazda6 project requiring a cash injection.
