In an unfortunate incident on Saturday 18th at Sydney Dragway, Rodney Rehayem crashed his PAC RX3 in a horrific accident on his first pass of the day. The team would like to thank the rescue crew, the paramedics and the Sydney Dragway staff for their quick response at the scene.
Last night at Sydney Dragway, the PAC performance team reset their own world record once again in the Mazda 6. The team have now raised the bar even higher for their competition, knocking 1/10th off their record, running an amazing 6.589@208mph.
A week after the world record was taken from Australian shores, the Pac team have snatched it back from their offshore rivals with a blistering 6.68@205mph.
The Fuchs Nationals is Australia's oldest and longest running Drag Racing event, having started in 1965 in Victoria and residing today in NSW at Sydney Dragway. It is a National event with all Group One categories represented and is second only to the Winternationals in terms of prestige and competitor numbers.
What a weekend this has been! The car was performing well and we were off to a good start with Rocky qualifying at the top of the class with 6.88@203mph. Things were about to get better! The very next pass was a blindingly-fast 6.745@205mph – a new World Record!
