2022 GRUDGE KINGS SYDNEY - EVENT WRAP-UP

Troy Dumbrell has been having an absolute ball racing his immaculate RX3 since we completed the last round of upgrades, slowly getting more comfortable in the driver's seat on the proven 8-second beast...

He certainly had his hands full at the event though on Saturday, getting a good look at the bright blue sky more than once, with the car heading skywards and driving past the tree on the back wheels whilst running consistent 9.0 passes.

Keen as mustard to nail an 8-second pass (the car has been 8.8 with George Steering), it's time to give the suspension a little tweak before the next outing so Troy can focus on his shifts, rather than trying to keep the car from doing a back flip. Top work Troy, and don't worry, that 8-second time slip is coming your way real soon

Cementing its position as Australia's Quickest & Fastest 13B, the Hitek Steel Framing / Billet By Pac RX8 'La Ayre' was on-song at the Grudge Kings event, racing in the 'Pro Elite' class...

Continuing on a consistent path from recent test meets, Rod & his crew kicked things off with a solid 6.53@213 and a win against the Gas Racing Celica before backing it up on the next run against the twin-turbo Pro Flow Torana, going faster again with a 6.52@215 - a new PB for the car & Australian 13B MPH record!

What could have been that night if the transmission issue didn't rear its ugly head and end the day prematurely for the team, we'll never know... But rest assured the car will be out again, ready to rock at the first opportunity, ready to pick up where we left off!

Now we all know that if there's a radial ,street or grudge event at Sydney Dragway, chances are Dom Chich Perri is going to be there with his true street RX2 'GODRX2', trailer in tow and ready to rumble - and that's exactly how it went down at Saturday's Grudge Kings event.

Putting in work to chase down that elusive 7-second time slip, Dom battled it out in the 'Street Tyre Fighter Pro' class against some tough competition, claiming a few scalps and making it all the way to the finals with a string of low 8-second passes.

Matched up perfectly against a staunch competitor that had been collecting similar time slips to Dom's all day, we were guaranteed an awesome final race and that it was... Unfortunately, Dom wasn't able to get the win on the last pass of the day, but was still plenty pleased with his efforts for the day and taking home the runner-up cheque 👌
Keep up the good work Dom, that 7 is going to happen soon, no doubt about it!

Lee Docherty continued his run of consistency since switching over to the auto trans, running several strong and consistent passes mid 7-second passes throughout the day, the best being a 7.51@180 which is a new PB for the Auto setup (the car has been a best of 7.48 with a 5-speed)

No doubt with more track time we will soon see the car dip deeper into the 7s and be a very strong competitor on the track!

Anthony Daquino's also made an appearance at Grudge Kings in his staunch full chassis 13B RX3, kicking things off with some solid 6-second passes, including a 6.7 early in the day, backed up by a 6.84@188, however, like Rodney, transmission gremlins brought a premature end to the teams day...

Overall, there was no doubt that it was yet another successful event by the Grudge Kings team which we were glad to be a part of! Now, we shift things into top gear and prepare for the upcoming Brisbane Jamboree which is set to be one of the biggest in recent years... BRING IT ON AND SEE YOU ALL THERE!!
