It's been what seems like an eternity since we last had the Mazda6 SP at the track but it's an exciting time for all involved to see the big girl ready to make her return to racing, looking and sounding better than ever!
While our focus over the past 24 months has been primarily on campaigning the PACMAN & 'La Ayre' RX8s and our customer's cars, there has still been a lot of hard work & R&D happening in the background with the flagship Mazda6 SP.
From top to bottom the car has had a full re-fresh, with no stone left unturned in the quest to have her fit and ready to hit the ground running in 2022.
The iconic Pac yellow has made a return as the prominent colour, applied by George Shalala & his amazing team at Shalala Smash Repairs and combined with the new livery by the team at Sydney Wrap Shop & JetPac Dezign & Signage and the attention to detail of the Panda Pro Detail team - it gives the car a fresh new look that's sure to draw the eye as George performs his trademark half-track burnouts!
Under the hood, the big, bad Billet By Pac 20B still resides with a few new tweaks as well as a threesome of Garrett Advancing Motion's finest turbochargers! After extensive dyno testing of every turbocharger model & combo the Garrett team could throw at us, the 3 rotor was the happiest with the triplets, so were the boys and when you hear this thing in person, boy-o-boy does she sound delightful... Delightfully angry that is!!
At the same time as the drivetrain was receiving upgrades, the talented guys from Connexion Concepts & Gadget Pro Electrical were also re-wiring the whole car and equipping it with the latest and greatest MoTeC engine management & logging system with enough sensors to rival a NASA spaceship!
Having the car finally sitting on the ground, ready to pounce with all-new suspension, one seriously angry triple rotor and an extremely eager crew has been something we have all been looking forward to and the time is here to unleash the beast... Well, when the weather lets us...
It's been a HUGE effort by so many to get to this point and we cannot thank our team, families and of course our sponsors enough for their support and patience during this time. It's been a long journey but all the hard work and late nights for the A-Team, George, Rocky, Rodney, Emmanuel, Rob, Kevin, Nathan, Kieran, Zac, James, Peter, Chris, Peter 'Bunga' & Khalid will all be worth it in the end!
