BILLET QUAD ROTOR INCOMING - NEXT LEVEL FD BUILD

There's no doubt that the popularity of FD RX7s is at an all-time high, especially when it comes to owners looking to take modifications to the next level.

Andrew, the owner of this once bone-stock FD had a few simple requests when it comes to his build... 1. It has to be capable of doing it all... Street, Drag, Circuit & other Driving Events & 2. It has to be next level crazy! So here we go on this epic adventure...

Once the car was rolled into the shop, it didn't take long for the boys to strip her down, removing the running gear, fuel system and interior trim, ready for the modifications to begin.

Left with a bare rolling chassis and a blank sheet of paper, it was time to get down to business and make a solid plan for the build. It's not every day you get given the opportunity to go all-out to build someone's dream car so this stage is pretty exciting for us as well as the customer.

With the goals that Andrew has for the car, we knew there was no way the humble 2 rotor was going to be finding its way back into the car, and already having 2 hard-core 20B FD builds currently in the works, even a 3 rotor wasn't going to be crazy enough for Andrew... So a quad rotor it is...

Not just any average 4 rotor either, we're talking a dry-sump Billet By Pac 4 rotor that's set to be fed by one or more of  Garrett - Advancing Motion's finest & controlled by a top of the line MoTeC engine management & data system.

Like our other recent FD builds, Andrew's car will also be equipped with one of our Pac H/Duty Modular FD Cooling Packages & dual-fuel fuel system to keep the big donk cool, fed & happy.

Bolted to the back of the engine is another exciting and fairly new setup, a Getrag 7-speed DCT transmission, a setup seen behind many late models, high-performance productions vehicles that offers lightning-quick, sequential-like gear changes with the drivability of an automatic transmission - a completely tunable system offering the best of both worlds.

Currently, the car is in the fab bay having the mounts for the quadrotor dummy block and transmission sorted as well as the trans tunnel which required some modification for clearance.

Next update things will get real exciting when we start playing around with the intake & turbo side of things 💪 So STAY TUNED!
