Something a lot of people won't know about this particular pass is what was happening inside the cabin at the time...
After shaking the tyres off the line the extension housing on the gearbox snapped clean off as George shifted into 3rd gear... Not being the kind of guy who likes to back-off, George decided to push on, shifting into 4th, then into top gear, holding the shifter assembly in place whilst steering this animal to a 6.56@209...
Nearing the finish line George then realised that of course, somehow he need to hit the chutes... In George's own words..." What the hell are you going to do now you idiot?" Not wanting to take his hand off the wheel he was left with no choice to quickly let go of the shifter which saw it shake around like crazy for a split second before he could once again grab hold of it and roll around onto the return road...

Thankfully now these dramas have been resolved and it should be smooth sailing from here on.
