Last night our #PACSTREETKINGS were out at Sydney Dragway for the Motive DVD Drag night with 1320 Video. With the international guests on hand filming the event for their upcoming Down under tour video, spectator numbers were up, as were the competitor entries with over 150 cars lined up to do battle.
From our team we had 5 cars entered, Alan Hamdan in his newly purchased ‘RSTLES’ 323 Wagon, Rami Gambino in his ‘CALHLP’ RX3 Sedan, Ibby Awad in his ‘LOW09Z’ RX3, Ray Chakti in the ‘BOWDWN’ RX3 and Rodney Rehayem driving the ‘TO90OD’ RX3.
Hitting the track for the first time in his new 13b powered 323 Wagon, ‘RSTLES’, Alan from Hamdan Towing was feeling nervous. Going from a manual 12a Turbo in his other car ‘O4LOOX’ to this new, more powerful 13b Turbo with an auto transmission was going to take some getting use to. First run of the night and Alan runs a 10.756 @115 on low boost and getting off early. Second run Alan left the line a little harder still on low boost running a new pb of 10.537 @122.
Returning to racing after a short break, Rami was looking to better his current pb of 9.389 @142 in his ‘CALHLP’ RX3 Sedan. On his first pass Rami raced to a 9.6 @137, second pass the car left hard to the right towards the wall so he aborted the run. Last pass of the night and Rami turned it up with a 9.423 @144, a pb for mph!
Ibby Awad was looking to run into the 9.0’s in his ‘LOW09Z’ RX3 in a hope to climb higher up the #PACSTREETKINGS leader board. The first 2 runs of the night were off the pace in the high 9’s. On the final pass the car hooked up to a 9.352 @146.
Our current number 5, Ray Chakti in his ‘BOWDWN’ RX3 was also hoping to better his current pb of 9.07 @148. On his first pass the car looked good off the line but at the 60’ mark he lost traction spinning the tyres to half track. Next run out the car hooked hard as it raced down to a 9.212 @145. Ray was hoping for one more pass but unfortunately the rain came and the racing was called off early. No doubt Ray will be back out again soon looking to hit that elusive 8 second et.
After having a new engine combo installed. ‘TO90OD’ was back at the track with Rodney behind the wheel looking to push the RX3 deep into the 9’s. On his first pass the car lifted up on 2 wheels and Rodney backed off straight away getting back on the throttle again for a 9.769 @142. On the second pass Rodney was lined up against Ibby in a battle of the PAC grey RX3’s. Out of the hole both cars left good but an issue with Ibby’s car saw him back off early leaving Rodney to continue on to a new pb of 9.437 @137. This pass placed Rodney in 10
th on our #PACSTREETKINGS leader board with more to come!!
The boys had a great night of racing overall and capped it off with a cruise over to Harry's for a hotdog before heading home. #becausestreetcar
