When this genuine Spirit R FD RX7 came to us it was a stock standard car with a tired heart, just crying out for a setup worthy of the car's special status ....

While the factory twin turbo 13B provided plenty of fun for the owner, even the best setup factory offering can be improved upon and that was the task given to the team.

With any project big or small it's important to start with a solid base, so the original 13BREW block was given a full freshen up along with a PAC street Port. In preperation for a new single turbo setup, the boys also treated the engine to a set of upgraded Bosch injectors fitted to a custom fuel rail.

To help put the extra horses to the ground, the crew also installed one of our 550hp single plate clutch kits.

When you pop the bonnet of this beast your eyes are quickly drawn to the most notable new addition to the engine bay, the Garrett - Advancing Motion GTW38/84 turbo with V-band exhaust housing, mounted on a custom steam pipe V-Band manifold. Boost is regulated by a Turbosmart 50mm wastegate.

The turbo breaths through one of our new custom moulded PAC airboxes that will soon be available on our website. 

Featuring a large, moulded air intake, BOV plumb-back provision and large K&N filter, this direct fit air box offeres a no-cut install and provides ample air flow for a hungry engine.

Looking under the hood now, the result is a clean, almost factory-looking setup, poised to prowl the black top with pride.

Running a haltch platinum Series ECU tuned by Rocky, this car is an absolute dream to drive and once the owner has covered the run-in kms, we'll see her back again for a full tune where the beast can be unleashed!
