After many years of track time their little blue 13BT Mazda 1000 ute known as 'YAMUMA', the Gibbos Racing lads have decided to take things to the next level, purchasing this sexy-looking RX3 sedan.
The slammed sedan is currently a roller but will soon receive its new heart, a killer 2000+hp Garrett turbo-fed 20B combo that will be backed by a T400 3-speed automatic. Yes that's right, an auto. The goal for the car is to be a reliable and relatively low maintenance monster that can tear up the track on a regular basis without the usual post run craziness usually associated with cars at this level of performance.
Matthew aka Gibbo, the cars owner is eagerly anticipating the first fire up; the sound, the smell and the feel of the car being all that more meaningful to him than most people due to the fact Gibbo is legally blind...Don't think that it stops him from enjoying his cars though as you can see in this clip...
Unfortunately due to 'rules' Gibbo himself won't be driving the car on the 'track'...But he has promised that the car will be a crowd pleaser on the strip! Let's just say the person that will be behind the wheel knows what he's doing (or at least tries to act like he does...) and knows a thing or two about big smokey, get the crowd on their feet burnouts...
With the gears already in motion and the driveline components being built as we type this feature it won't be long 'till this beast is painting big fat black lines down the Sydney Dragway strip. Stay tuned for more updates on the build as they happen.
