It's been one hell of a journey getting this little R100 back on the road and completed to an acceptable standard for both the customer & our team.
No stone was left unturned with our team having to un-do years of modifications that were, to put it simply, not carried out with any forethought; a mass of ugly, unnecessary holes, clearance issues, engine alignment dramas, cooling problems, poor braking performance, suspension problems & general drivability & reliability issues plagued the car, but thankfully we've come out of the other side of the tunnel with a car that not only does everything it should, properly but also a car that is presentable, is easy to work on & is a pleasure to drive!
Not the easiest of tasks with these cars as those who have owned and worked on them would know, but a job that's been made much easier with tried and tested components & packages. This car now runs one of our Premium Cooling Packages, Performance Strut & Brake Combos with light weight 12" 2-piece rotors & Wilwood 4-Piston Calipers & has been completely re-wired front to back with a MoTeC M130 management package now running the show, accompanied by a C1212 Dash & Electric DBW Throttle Control.
In addition to all the cool, fancy stuff you can see straight up, it's all the smaller details & work carried out that is unseen that really makes the car... Extensive heat management, all new, correctly-spec'd brake, fuel & oil lines, suspension & steering components installed & aligned properly, proper clearance, bulk-heads, a working heater demister, full engine protection & logging features with the MoTeC... the list goes on!
Now back with the owner to put some kays on the engine and let everything settle in, we'll see the car back at the shop soon for a tune as well as a few other details to finish things off.
