The Gibbo Racing crew headed out to the 2014 All Ford Day at Sydney Dragway last weekend to check out some of the action from the grand stands however with a few entry spaces left over and organisers looking to fill in the gaps the guys figured why not get in on some of the fun and show all the Ford boys what their little Mazda streeter can do.
Equipped with nothing more than an old set of low profile Nitto street tyres mounted on the FR18 Simmons, Kirk who also pilots the 9 second YAMUMA ute headed out for a few runs.
Leaving off the foot brake the 13BT RX3 proceeded to lay down a string of impressive passes including a 10.8@130 followed by a crazy-quick 10.53@129 on the last pass of the day, dropping the jaws of other competitors and track officials in the process.
Street wheel and tyre combo, full interior including electric RX8 seats, full exhaust driven to the track and home again, this little purple piston eater that happens to be Gibbo's fiance's ride by the way, brings new meaning to the term 'Quick Street Car'!
Being a last minute decision to race we unfortunately didn't get an video footage of the runs but you can check the car out in action on the dyno in the clip below >
