INGRAM BROTHERS BRING HOME THE CHAMPIONSHIP

In what has been a historic and amazing first season for the Ingram Brothers Racing team, the final round of the Precision National Sports Sedans, held at the legendary Mt Panorama in Bathurst was, as expected, a hard-fought & exciting weekend of racing that won't be forgotten any time soon!

Both Peter & Matthew had positive practice runs on Friday and a great qualifying session on Saturday morning, with Peter scoring pole position with the RX7 and Matt claiming 6th position in the RX8 - their fastest lap times impressive, serving as great motivation for the team leading into Race 1 that afternoon.

Race 1 saw Peter dominate and come home with a strong win that sealed the deal for the series title, with the win and resulting points standing making it mathematically impossible for anyone to pass him now on the leaderboard! Matthew found himself battling it out amongst the middle of the field, coming home in 7th spot.

Heading into Race 2 on Sunday morning, Mathew would be flying solo with Peter unable to make the race with a tail shaft issue during the warmup. Stepping up to the plate and making some impressive moves throughout the race, Matthew managed to bustle his way through the field to finish the race in 3rd position, lapping a PB of 2:09 around the iconic track in the process! An awesome effort that shows that this is definitely a pairing you don't want to sleep on!

With Peter Set to start Race 3 from the back of the grid, all eyes were glued to the crazy carbon fibre RX7 as it sliced through the field like a hot knife through butter, jumping from 14th spot to 4th in just the first few corners, before slipping into 2nd position behind race leader Tamasi in the Calibra within the first 2 laps of the race!

From there it was bumper-to-bumper racing between the pair, both cars lapping the mountain in times on par with the current leading V8 Super Cars; Peter running a best of 2:06:7153!! Despite making a few solid attempts to pass, veteran racer Tamasi was able to hold onto the lead from Peter after the race was unfortunately ended early due to a car stopped on the track on a blind corner - that car unfortunately being Matthew in the RX8 which had held 3rd position for almost the entire race until an electrical issue saw the car lose power completely in the final few laps, heartbreakingly ending the race and the season for Matthew... Bugger!

While an extra lap could have made all the difference for Peter in his efforts to take the race lead from Tamasi, and we could well have seen brother Matthew join the pair on the podium, the team as a whole were absolutely thrilled with the efforts for this round and the season as a whole! Delivering results that no one thought was even possible, especially in their first season of racing was simply inspiring and to be the first to do it in a turbocharged rotary (racing for the full season) is just the icing on the cake!

Both cars performed near flawlessly throughout the year, proving the reliability of each setup and the driver’s talent & potential, in fact, Peter not being unable to run in race 2 was his first and only DNF for the whole series!

Yes, the team did have to work through some issues and breakages along the way, but certainly nothing out of the ordinary for cars racing at this level and none that involved the Billet By Pac 20Bs which powered these hi-tec machines - that's right, rotaries are reliable and can go the distance in circuit applications too!

There's no doubt this win will spark some positive change and renewed interest in the National series and Australian Sport Sedans as a whole as a new age of high-tech racers look to shake things up!

A huge congratulations Peter, Matthew and the whole Ingram Brothers Racing team on a great first season and a well-deserved win! We're so proud and thankful to have had the opportunity to be involved with the team and these amazing cars, and we've learnt so much along the way. We would like to send out a BIG thank Peter Ingram and Matt for believing in our products and for flying the rotary flag high and proud! This is just the beginning of a great relationship, and we look forward to what the 2025 season will bring!
