Biggest prize in NZ drag racing to bring four race teams to Jamboree in 2015

It’s not just the cars that break records at Jamboree! In 2015 four of the fastest sport compact race cars from New Zealand will make the trip over to Australia to compete at the biggest sport compact event on the calendar, the Brisbane Jamboree. Never before in the history of New Zealand drag racing has such a prize been offered, and thanks to 4 & Rotary Nationals, Sport Compact Group and Online Logistics, fans of the fastest turbocharged sport compact action will witness the largest Kiwi invasion in the event’s history.

The winners of the Sport Mod and Pro Import classes at the 2015 4 & Rotary Nationals, on January 24th & 25th 2015, together with two wildcard entries to be decided by the public at the conclusion of the event, will be packed up and shipped across in time to take part in the Brisbane Jamboree to be held on the 29th of August at Queensland’s Willowbank Raceway.

New Zealand 4 & Rotary Nationals promoter, Azhar Bhamji, said that this opportunity forms part of the plan to ensure the longevity of the event and sport compact drag racing in general.“The Nationals has been going for a long time and we’ve never had a prize pack like this in the event’s history. We’ve brought some of the best Aussie sport compact racers over to New Zealand to race for years now, and so this idea spawned into an opportunity to give the NZ guys a chance to travel to the Jamboree in Brisbane and race against some of the best competition around.”

Sport Compact Group’s Ray Box added that, “New Zealand has a wealth of drag racing talent and it is exciting to see more racers join the list of those already competing at the Jamboree. Guys like Rod Harvey and Reece McGregor are two of the best-known names in the world of turbo import drag racing and I’m looking forward to see who the two class winners are as well as who the public selects as the must-see racers to appear at Brisbane Jamboree in August 2015.
