Let's face it, no matter how hard you try to avoid them or how thorough you're team is checking over the car, fluid leaks are a common mishap when racing your car; whether it's from a loose fitting or component failure everyone gets caught out at some stage.
The best thing that can be done is to try and contain the fluid as best as possible to prevent it from getting onto the track and under your or other racers tyres and that's where under trays come into play.
Although the concept and even the design may seem pretty straight forward, design and fabrication is in fact a lot more complex than you would first think. Suspension and steering component movement, chassis and body flex all need to be taken into consideration when designing and fabricating an under tray, all in addition to ensuring that the under tray will actually all liquid spills, large and small as best as possible.
Having designed and fabricated numerous under trays over the years for a variety of different makes and models and with testing carried out in the shop and on the track we have developed and refined our designs to ensure the very best fluid retention as possible while also being practical for easy installation and removal.
Each and every under tray manufactured at Pac Performance is custom designed and fabricated to suit each particular application, making sure that the fit-up is perfect. No two trays are alike, even when it comes to the same model vehicle.
Engine and driveline mounting, steering and suspension, sumps and other components all vary from car to car and by working on each car case-by-case the best fit possible is achieved.
Designed and manufactured by our in-house fabricator Ross, the custom Pac Performance Under Trays are constructed in 1.6mm alloy sheeting with all joins precision tig-welded for a perfect seal, not riveted like some other aftermarket setups out there. Deep fluid retention lips are also incorporated into the designs on all edges to contain even the largest spills.
We know that when you're at the track time is precious and so each under tray setup is fitted up with quick release duez clips making for quick and easy installation and removal for cleaning and inspection. Powder coating is also available for a neat and durable finish.
Rather than relying on just the under tray to catch the leaking fluid we fit out all of our cars with high quality spill control pads which are positioned on top of the tray itself. With the ability to contain almost 10L of oil and other fluids on their own the spill control pads offer that little bit more insurance in the event of a major spill.
When you're pushing your car to the limit and hurtling down the track at warp speeds you need to take every precaution you can to ensure you, the guy next to you and the guys running behind you make it to the end of the track trouble free and a Pac Performance Custom Alloy Under Tray is a massive step forward to making sure that happens!
