PAC 13B TERRORS SHAKE-DOWN AT APSA

After watching the build-up of these two magnificent machines over the past few years, the whole Pac Performance team were overjoyed as they headed out to Sydney Dragway on Friday to make their track debut at a private test meet help prior to Saturdays APSA Shootout.

Joined by veteran racer and current Aussie 13B record holder Andrew ‘The Dentist’ Maratos, Steve and Anthony were in good company.

Being the first time both cars had seen the black top both crews would be taking advantage of the track time to give the car a full run-down to work out and sort any teething problems rather than trying to go our guns-blazing.

It was also the first time Steven Barnett had been behind the wheel in 3 years and stepping up from the cars previous setup (of which he'd only driven a handful of times) to this new combo required a lot of focus and undoubtedly brought on a few nerves.

As always though George, Rocky and a few of the boys were on hand to crew and make sure Steven and his RX3 were as prepared as could be.

On the track though it was all on Steven and even though he didn't put down a full-power pass he did get several runs in over the two days, helping Steven greatly in getting a feel for the car as well as gathering valuable data.

After being involved in an horrific accident some 3 years ago, Anthony Daquino made his long-awaited return to the track in his all-new, full chassis, carbon fiber-shelled 13B RX3 sedan

After a few small dramas at the Friday test meet Anthony and his crew returned on the Saturday for a few more shake-down passes with some added 2-step flamage once the sun dropped...

Powered by a Pac 13B this state-of-the-art chassis is going to be to look out for in the near future once everything is sorted and Anthony gets back into the zone.

The Dentist came out for a few passes on the Friday and was leaving the line aggressively all day however tyre shake and gear selection issues saw most of the passes aborted except for a single mid seven second pass, rolling through the traps.

Always a fun car to watch, Chris Fakinos' small tyre R100 was out battling for traction as always and putting down a few solid 8-second passes, using every square-inch of his lane on some runs...

Now the the guys will collate and go over the data from their runs and work out the plan of attack for next time, where if all goes to plan they will be joined by another new 13B racer in the form of Mark Brenners Pac-Yellow RX3 sedan... Be sure to stay tuned to the Pac Performance Facebook Page for updates.

Big thanks to the Cackling Pipes team for the awesome on-track snaps!
