PAC 20B RX7 RIPS UP POWERCRUISE PERTH

After purchasing this tough-as-nails 20B FC RX7 from one of our long-time customers and shipping it all the way home to the other side of the country late last year, Perth local Anthony Sanders has been thoroughly enjoying himself behind the wheel whenever he can get the chance.

From crusing the streets to running wheel-spinning, fishtailing mid 10s on cheap n nasty Chinese street tyres at the drags Anthony tells us purchasing the car is one of his best decisions he's ever made in regards to car related stuff...

Powercruise events are one of the only places car owners are able to let loose and go for broke in a street-style environment, cruising along side by side with other performance cars and when the PC camp rolled into Perth's Barbagallo Raceway last weekend Anthony and his mates knew it was a must-attend event!

Starting out on the Saturday on the street tyres Anthony found the car too loose on the track and impossible to put any of the 600+hp on offer to the ground so the choice was made to swap over to a pair of sticky MT Street Radials and try and get some grudge runs in...

Despite offering a load more traction the big bad 20B still managed to turn the tyres whenever the throttle was hit, which Anthony tells us was pretty much each and every straight section of track.

"When the tyres were biting the car was eating pretty much everything out there but we did have a few close runs when it was wheel spinning including lining up a mid 10-second R35 GTR and driving around him with the tyres turning hard!"

"I also got to have a good run with my friend in his 13BT 808 sleeper," Anthony explained. " Once again the 20B come out on top but it was good fun and many laughs were had afterwards."

Sunday saw Anthony give the car a quick coolant change, new plugs and a top up of fuel before heading out again for more shenanigans.

"I think I must have done roughly 30 laps in the morning session alone with the car not missing a beat at all!! It smoked everything and anything on track and I  I think I may have converted a couple of people over to rotary power when I took a few people out for their first ever ride in a rotary."

After a short break for lunch and to watch the Powerskids it was time for the off-street drags. Once again Anthony disposed of quite several big power competitors including a few 700+hp turbo Falcons, VL Turbos and GTRs however, it was one of these 4wd monsters that bit back in the end with a 800+hp R32 coming away with a win in the semi final... It was a good run none-the-less.

"I knew I would give up a massive lead at the start so I gave it a little more but she wheel-spun again and he got a good car length in front. By the end though I was back to his front door but just ran out of road."

Onto the final cruise session and Anthony and his RX7 did another 30+ continuous laps only stopping to change out passengers.

"I couldnt not fault the car at all for the whole weekend!" Anthony told. "Given the highly modified nature of the car i'm super impressed with the reliability and most of all the performance of the car. Massive thanks to everyone at Pac for building the car of my dreams!"

It's our pleasure Anthony and we hope you have many more awesome outings like this one in the future!
