PAC @ MODIFIED LIVE - EPISODE 1 03-06-17

Last Saturday night saw the Modified Live - Episode 1 event held @ Sydney Dragway, hosted by Motive DVD. This was a pop up event scheduled straight after the 2017 GTR Festival and considering the event was only announced 2 weeks prior there was still a great turnout featuring some of Sydney's fastest cars.
Our team was well represented on the night with 10 cars showing up to make some passes down the quarter mile.

Ahmad Hamdan was out in his 13B powered 323 wagon 'RSTLES' itching to beat his previous pb of 10.5 even commenting that he has been on a diet so he can run a 9. On his first and only pass of the night Ahmad staged the car and took off down the track to run a new pb of 9.993 @131. With the car not having a roll cage (As per IHRA rules for cars running faster than 10.000) the officials took away his race sticker and the car was parked up for the rest of the event but this didn't bother Ahmad who was grinning from ear to ear.

Taking a break from filming duties for the night so he could race his RX3, Mark 'FRASHA' Wilkinson from Fast Performance Videos was also gunning for a 9 second et. With his first pass of the night being less than ideal,  Mark went back to the pits where Rocky made a few adjustments. Back on the start line Mark lined up against Steven Barnett's 6 second RX3 to try again. Not intimidated, Mark launched the car hard from the line racing down to an impressive 9.62 @139 finally realizing his dream of running a 9 second pass. To say Mark was ecstatic would be an understatement.

Jay Sadek turned up in his latest street beast,  the 'SADEK3' RX3 coupe and was looking to run a pb after struggling to get past his current pb of 9.30 at his last event.
First run out and Jay ran yet another 9.30. Turning the car straight back around he came out again and raced down the track to a new pb of 9.133 @147.
Still not done, Jay went on to run several 9.1 second passes before he pb'd again with a 9.095 @147 on his last pass of the day, Very impressive for a genuine Street driven, radial, non wheelie bar car.
With the new time Jay now moves into 8th place on the #PACSTREETKINGS leaderboard.

Our only non rotary powered car racing that night was the 'TRYNC' R33 Skyline driven by Jimmy Cannavo. Jimmy had raced earlier in the day at the GTR Festival but was struggling with traction. The nights event was no different with Jimmy struggling to get down the track to a best of 9.44 @167. Quite a bit off from his current pb, 8.61 @163.

Luke Philps came up from Canberra in his immaculately presented 'STUTTA' R100 looking to run deeper into the 8's. On his first pass of the night, Luke ran a 9.12 @144 then coming back out to run a best of 9.07 @148, Not the 8 he was after but still a solid time given the cold conditions.

Our Pro Compact 13B brigade of Steven Barnett, Andrew Maratos and Mario Rehayem each ran 2 passes on the night but struggled to make a full pass in the cold conditions with the wheels spinning on the start line on each of their passes.

Rodney in his 'ROODGY'S BACK' RX3 Sedan blasted out a 6.97 @196 on his first pass of the night but decided to pack the car up straight after to concentrate on our other customer cars.

Fresh off the ship from racing in Puerto Rico our Mazda 6 SP was back on home soil and looking to pick up where it left off.  The first pass out the car showed some aggressive first half stats and with a very soft clutch setting to suit track conditions we ran a 6.53 @174mph. On the last pass of the night with track conditions quickly deteriorating we were at the start line ready to run again, the Mazda 6 shot out of the hole hard racing to a 6.31 @200mph with an early shut off as the car started to get loose in the deep end.
With the data we have collected from those 2 passes the boys are very happy with the cars performance and are looking forward to getting out to test again soon. So stay tuned!!

We would like to congratulate our customers Ahmad, Mark and Jay on their new pb's, well done boys. Thank you to Sydney Dragway and their team and a shout out to Andrew Hawkins and the Motive DVD crew for the invite on what was a great event.
We would also like to thank all of the Pacsters for all your support, be sure to keep an eye on our socials for details on our upcoming events.
