With the growing popularity of our RX3 Direct Fit Alloy Fuel Tank/Pump Combos we've been inundated constantly with requests for setups to suit a variety of different makes and models. As a result, to meet the increased demand we have now started to expand our range of off-the-shelf direct-fit fuel tank and in-tank pump combos we keep in stock.
Pac Performance are happy to announce that we now stock Direct-fit Fuel Tank and in-tank pump combos to suit the popular Gen1 RX7s, those being Series 1, 2 and 3 from 1978 to 1985. Although already fitted to a number of customer cars, they were built as one-offs but with demand growing we have decided to make the Gen1 RX7 setups a regularly-stocked item, available off the shelf.
Just like the RX3/808 tanks, the Gen1 RX7 setup has been designed, developed, fabricated and tested in-house. As a direct-fit unit, the new tank/pump setup bolts straight in place of the OEM fuel tank, utilising all the original mounting points for an easy install. Great for the DIY guys.
The design and layout of the Direct-fit Gen1 RX7 Fuel Tank and In-tank Pump Combos also allows for the original fuel filler to be used, with all original breathers retained. Fuel capacity is also increased substantially from the factory 55-60L to 80L which is great for those running E85. Due to the increased capacity there is however the need to remove the cars spare wheel well to cater for the larger size of the tank.
With all pumps and hardware kept internal this negates the need for loud externally mounted fuel pumps and large surge tanks, not only saving space and the hassle of mounting these components legally under the vehicle, it also get's rid of that dreaded fuel smell as well as pump noise almost completely, making your driving experience much more pleasurable.
Available as a single, dual or triple pump setup, the Pac Performance Direct-fit Gen1 RX7 Fuel Tank and In-tank Pump Combos feature quality high pressure in-tank fuel pumps and come fully assembled, plumed and wired using approved fuel-safe electrical fittings and hose. For those wishing to run E85/Flex Fuel all hoses are upgraded to suit.
Wiring is also made a breeze requiring only the need to terminate the car side of your wiring with the supplied plug; making the switch an almost plug-and-play affair in most cases.
All Direct-fit Gen1 RX7 Fuel Tank and In-tank Pump Combos come equipped with your choice of an OEM or aftermarket fuel level sender unit as pictured here to allow compatibility between original and after market gauges.
As you can see in the photo below, even with the increased capacity, when installed in the car the Direct-fit Gen1 RX7 Fuel Tank and In-tank Pump Combo is barely visible thanks to the durable black powder coat finish.
Pricing for the Pac Performance Direct-fit Gen1 RX7 Fuel Tank and In-tank Pump Combo starts at $2095 for the single pump setup, suitable for fuel injected NA vehicles. Dual Pump (Turbo setups on 98 Octane Premium) and Triple Pump (Turbo setups on E85/Flex) combos are $POA as these are tailored to suit each vehicles individual setups and customer requirements.
Other setups available off-the-shelf include RX3/808, RX2 and RX4 with FC RX7 (Series 4 &5) and more coming soon.
Not too keen or don't have the time to do the job yourself? These setups are also available as a drive-in-drive-out deal, as are full E85 conversions . $POA
