Following on from their consistent but cut-short performance at the Sydney Jamboree, George and the Pac Performance Mazda6 SP deliver on their statement to return to the track just a week later to finish what they started.
Competing in the Turbo vs Blown category as part of the Sydney Dragway Track Championship meet the crew were confident that so long as the track was there the car would produce some solid numbers on the day, and that it did; the Mazda6 SP running a new PB of 6.446@217.98.
After a skatey first shakedown pass George rolled out for the second run of the day, looking to hold it flat and make it stick. With the cars setup and tune untouched since Jamboree where the car ran back-to-back six sixties we knew it had the tune it needed to go quicker if the sixty-foot was there, and as the lights dropped and the Mazda6 SP flew of the line for a respectable .99 sixty-foot, George drove the car through the traps drama free for the new PB.
The Gibbos Racing crew were also out racing on the day in Super Compact with YAMUMA, upsetting many a V8 owner in their cranky 13BT 1000 ute...
The ute was as always a photographer favorite, launching wheels-up on every pass and running consistent nines all day with a best of 9.74@136 for the day.
