PAC RE-SETS AUSTRALIAN ROTARY RECORDS

A quick wrap up of our private test meet that took place over Monday & Tuesday, organized to allow us to focus and work on our short times in the RX9 and have a play around with some new suspension.

The Sydney Dragway crew went out of their way to provide us with an absolute killer track, and that they did, prepping and maintaining the surface perfectly despite to 30 degree mid day temps. We certainly couldn’t have asked for more!

Monday was all about dialing the car in and getting it down the track, and we did just that, running 6.2s all day, with all the numbers being super consistent – just what we wanted to see! Our short times, while not quite where we want them to be, are certainly getting there and heading in the right direction!

Heading into Tuesday, it was time to put it all to work, and the team hit the ground running with a 6.15@224 PB - re-setting our Australian Rotary ET record!

While there was plenty of celebration, you guys know we like to back things up, and that we did with a strong 6.20@229.98 on the next run, followed by a 6.19 at a cruisy 220.8mph to finish the day.

To see all the hard work starting to pay off with this new chassis is amazing and definitely motivating for the team and crew who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, mostly after hours, to get the car to where it is today. And knowing that there is still so much more in it is just so damn exciting!! We know she’s got the power, having run 235mph previously, once we combine that with a good short track, best believe it’s going to result in something special!

In addition to our own success on the day, we also got to help and watch our friends and teammates, Sam and the Sadek Racing crew, also kick some big goals in the quad-rotor Camaro!

After some early teething problems, which are to be expected with a completely new car and setup, we finally got to see the big black beast put down its first full track passes, starting with a flying 6.248@234 which Sam backed up with a 6.187@227 – cementing the cars title of the World’s Quickest & fastest 4-rotor, and the 2nd quickest Rotary in Australia!

The car really has made the team work for it, though and thrown its fair amount of challenges at us, trying to get the suspension & converter right, as well as dialing in the torque management with the MoTeC M150 and twin DBW throttles, in an effort to keep it from blowing the tyres off.Far from perfect runs, these results certainly show the potential of this car and are just the tip of the iceberg!

Coming away from a meet with not only PBs, but also the #1 and #2 spots, with great consistency throughout both days proves we’re moving in the right direction and rest assured we’re not taking our foot off the pedal even the slightest!

A huge thank you to the Sydney Dragway crew for providing us with a killer track, our sponsors Garrett - Advancing Motion, MoTeC, VP Racing Fuels Australia, Connexion Concepts, Frango Charcoal Chicken & Jetpac Dezign for the continued support and our crew for their dedication and hard work!
