There is no doubting that the Powercruise events, including the one day Powerplay are the most popular and anticipated motorsport driving events going at the moment. The opportunity for modified car owners to take out their toys and enjoy giving them a good thrash in a safe environment without fear of prosecution by the boys in blue is a hard ticket to beat and when you throw in the fact that you get to take your mates along for the ride...Well it doesn't get much better than that in our opinion...
Last weekend saw the annual One Day Powerplay return to Sydney Motorsport Park and as always we had a handful of customers attend the event, keen on having some fun behind the wheel.

Mixing it up with a huge range of vehicles from streeters, show cars and dedicated racers, fours, sixes, V8s and a host of other rotaries, these events offer something for everyone and with the passenger pass scheme that the promoters have going, pretty much anyone over the age of 16 can get in on the action and cruise shot-gun on the track.
Andrew 'Gooza' had been pumped all week to get out for his first Powerplay with his recently-acquired RX3 'FLY11N'. This 10-second streeter held its own against some serious contenders on the cruise sessions with Andrew blazing tyres at every opportunity he got.
Eric Wolf was also counting down the days leading up to the event.
Both Andrew and Eric are running very similar 13BBPT/Jatco combos which provide plenty of grunt to easily overpower the tyres and give the boys plenty of happy laps
Dom Perri is a Powercruise regular with his 9-second coupe GODRX2. Although mild-mannered on the street, Dom is well known for letting loose on the track and enjoying every single kilowatt the Pac-built 13BBPT is putting out.
Dom's Immaculate RX2 Coupe blazed tyres with the best of them, painting the track surface with dual black lines along the straights and out of the corners.
Unfortunately Dom's day was cut short due to a transmission seal leak but he certainly made the most of the lap 'n' a-bit he got to thrash on the day as you can see in this clip...
Jason Ashmore was all smiles cruising in his 'CONFUSED' FC RB25/30 RX7. This beast got quite a lot of attention in the pits and left a lot of people on the track scratching their heads with the sound not quite matching the sight...
Another regular sight on the track at most Sydney and Queensland Powercruise events is this man, Damien McKern and his two 20B terrors; his 7-second RX2 and the 20B Gen1 RX7 streeter seen here.
The sweet sound of the big turbo 20B always draws a flock of followers keen to hear Damien give it a hit on the track and maybe even try their luck at keeping up with it, most of the time with resulting in a nice view of the RX7s tail lights...
Powerplay just wouldn't be the same without a sighting of the big yellow boat, George's own 20B Cosmo. Making a brief appearance in the morning for a few laps George made sure there was an ample trail of tyre smoke wherever he went on the track, something the big 20B barge has no trouble doing.
Also spotted on the day, James Parker in his RX3 Coupe RX3SUM doing laps and having a ball. It's always good to see customers out and about enjoying theirs cars and the work we've put into them.
Powercruise events like Powerplay are a great opportunity for us to catch up with our customers without the hustle and bustle of the workshop to worry about. Sharing stores and having a good laugh is what's it's all about and throw in some happy laps of the track with the boys and it's a recipe for a great day!
And that's exactly what we had. Good mates, great cars and an awesome event, what more could you ask for...?? Bring on the next one!!
