Competing in the Super Comp class Afif Mikael was out at Sydney Dragway on Saturday with his crazy Corolla looking to get some more wheel time in the little 13BT KE20. After blasting out a PB at the shootout Afif was keen to once again to drop his ET even further and he certainly wasted no time doing just that; running an off-the-trailer 7.583@178 personal best.
Unfortunately the remained of his qualifying passes were not as successful with the car leaving the line very aggressively resulting in Afif aborting the runs. Heading into the first round of eliminations Afif lined up against Anthony Maatouk in his VL where once again the car left the line hard, hugging the wall and getting out of shape however, the Maatouk VL crossed the centreline which gave Afif his slot into round 2.
Round 2 saw the little Corolla line up against John Culmone in his Firebird. Afif was doing the chasing on this pass and although he managed a 0.087 reaction time and a 7.746 the race was won by John by a small margin; the 'Rolla skating all over the track.
Although he did not win the meet Afif , crew and the team here at Pac Performance are still very happy with the PB. Well done Afif!
