When it comes to tough street cars we've certainly produced our share over the past 20 year but over the past two years there's been an influx of customers wanting to combine race car-like performance on the track with the comforts, reliability and fun of a street car. The result has been the creation of a number of genuine 9-second street cars, driven and raced on the regular in street trim on street tyres.
As expected, just like on the race track there has been a bit of trash talking around the shop and between customers with dyno figures and ETs being thrown around left, right and centre as everyone makes their case on why their car is the toughest streeter around.
No doubt spurred along by the popular TV Series 'Street Outlaws' all this commotion and the tongue in cheek comments thrown about have been quite entertaining at times but in the end it was just all talk... So in the spirit of friendly competition we've decided to give these guys an opportunity to step up and prove their car has what it takes to be listed on the #pacstreetkings leader board.
Brought about to promote and encourage our customers to enjoy their cars in a safe and legal way whilst also inciting some good old fashion rivalry between mates, #pacstreetkings showcases the current best of the best genuine 'street cars' from the Pac Performance stable...
These cars drive to the track and home again, a 100+km trek for some, race on street tyres in full street trim on fuel from the pump. They're not stripped-out race cars with side pipes, they're street registered cars seen cruising the streets on the regular.
And they're not all rotaries either. The current front runner, or reigning 'Street King' if you like is James Cannavo and his RB25/30 R33 Skyline with a best of 8.91@159. An ET that at this time doesn't seem to be at any threat of being eclipsed however, there are a few guys out there working hard to take a shot at knocking the king off his throne...
So what does it take to get your name on the board?? Well as a customer of Pac Performance all that's required is for your car to meet the rules set out below and to run a quicker ET than the guy or girl on the bottom of the ladder.
