With a number of new cars currently in the build that are set to turn the street rotary world on it's head, there's been a big push from a few of our customers to step things up a notch with their cars... 'SKECHY' is one of them, with owner Danny getting the boys to carry out a bunch of new upgrades recently, including the switch to a full MoTeC management system to control the Garrett - Advancing Motion-fed Billet By Pac 13B.
Now back on the road & sounding angrier than ever, Danny jumped at the opportunity to get his RX3 streeter out for some testing this month, keen to show all that the car has got what it takes to get amongst the action with the big players!
It's been a few years since Danny was last behind the wheel racing at Sydney Dragway but even with very minimum seat time in his new car, he was able to give everyone a taste of what's to come from this wicked streeter, kicking things off with an easy 9.03@155 before jumping straight into the 8s in a big way, with a solid 8.70@157 a week later.
On both nights, the car was driven to and from the track in bumper to bumper peak hour traffic, in true street car style, with a stop off at the Pizza shop on the way home for a feed... So how quick will this car go...? Well if things keep progressing the way they have been, it seems that mid 8s is going to quickly become the new benchmark so that's the goal, for now...
