The chassis itself is a ¾ chromolly setup built in-house; In fact, the entire build apart from the body work and paint is being carried out by the team here at Pac Performance.Powering this beast will be a Pac-spec race 13B and Garrett GT55 combo, backed by a Liberty 5-speed.
No expense has been spared on this build, with quality being high on Joe’s highest priority, followed closely behind with HP of course…Something this car will have plenty of. “Because Joe’s a fat boy we’ve all promised him that whatever weight disadvantage he may have we will make up for with horsepower [Laughs].” - George
Although you cannot tell from these pics the body is a marvel in itself with the only steel panels left being the roof and rear quarters. The remainder of the body panels have been molded from light weight carbon fiber, making for amazing weight savings. There will also be a lot of titanium and magnesium components going into the car for even further weight savings.
Soon the chassis will be heading back to Custom Bodyworks where the master of the spray gun himself, Danny will be laying down the colour which trust us when we say, will amaze you! There’s no corner being cut with this car. It will blow you away both in the GO and SHOW department.
The crew is very excited to be getting the car back into the workshop real soon to start assembling the new combo. “Joe has been part of the Pac Performance family for a long time and we’re pumped to finally get him into a Mazda.” George says. “It took some time but he’s finally seen the light now!”
Joe has been crew chief for Pac Performance for the past 18 years and has been there for every pass that the three brothers have ever run. “He’s a pivotal part of the team and we would not have had the success we’ve had without his passion and hard work.” George states.
