Designed and developed for peak performance and efficiency, the Turblown 13BREW Cast Intake manifold Setup is a result of years of R&D, including extensive flow bench testing to maximise gains across the board for response, torque, and overall horespower.
In addition to Turblown's own testing, we conducted our own real-world dyno testing here at Pac HQ, doing several back-to-back runs comparing the Turblown Intake Package (upper & lower) with the OEM 13BREW intake as well as a popular aftermarket option - the results were astounding to say the least; up to a crazy 100rwhp increase over the standard 13BREW intake!
Direct Bolt-On Power Gains
Delivering a guaranteed 5-10% average power increase just on its own, the Turblow 13BREW Upper Intake Manifold is a direct bolt-on upgrade, able to fitted to the OEM FD3S lower intake or any other aftermarket lower intake using the same flange, and the same goes for the throttle body. Other built-in features of the Turblown Upper Intake Manifold include a 3/8"MPT air temp sensor port, 1/8"NPT water/alcohol meth injection port & 4x vacuum ports. The OEM S6 FD idle air control motor is also retained and each upper intake is supplied with hardware as well as npt port plugs, and npt to barb fittings for vacuum/brake booster connections. (Please Note - the Turblown Upper Intake does not clear IGN1A coil kits that fit ontop of the engine or Bosch 120A alternator.)
Unlock Max Gains & Power Potential
Combining the Turblown 13BREW Upper Inlet manifold with their new cast lower intake helps unlock the full potential of your 13B! Designed and built from scratch, the Turblow lower Intake features large, equal-length runners to help balance volumetric efficiency and improve engine reliability, especially in high horsepower applications, and an o-ringed flange for improved sealing. the guys have even included built-in mounting tabs for heat-shielding!
Available in both standard 4-port and Semi PP for those chasing big numbers, the Turblown cast lower Intake also provides sufficient material thickness to allow for match-porting and machining to suit 13BRE or larger semi PP ports, adding extra flexibility for each application. Increased fuel supply in these applications has also been addressed with additional injector ports (4 for standard 4-port intakes and 6 for Semi PP) and a billet 8AN high-flow fuel rail to suit. Don't need the additional injectors - Simply block them off with the supplied bungs.
While the intake system is a direct bolt-on upgrade, it must be noted that the intake system may require new intercooler hot side piping, as throttle body position is ever so slightly moved from OEM FD position, further towards front of the chassis to better accommodate even airflow distribution. This does favor engines swaps in the Rx8 chassis. Most IC piping has enough movement to accomate no changes if using standard couplers.
Add DBW & For the Ultimate Package
With the addition of a DBW Throttle setup, you can go that extra step to maximizing the potential of your new intake! the upgrade is an easy one too, with our billet throttlebody adaptor supplied with the kit, as well as your choice of the 82mm or 87mm Extreme DBW throttlebody. The upgrade also come with the required clamp adaptor (82mm) as well as a billet cooler pipe clamp in either 3" or 3.5".
